Walter Gigerich

Saturday evening, November 13th, our heavenly Father called Walter Gigerich to his eternal home at the end of his courageous fight with cancer. Walter was born in Hot Springs Arkansas on November 2, 1951 to Dr. Walter C. and Virginia Gigerich who preceded him in death. He was a 1970 graduate of Hot Springs High School and a 1975 graduate of Arkansas Tech University. Walter was a retired cost accountant. He was a life long member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs where he had served as a Deacon and an Elder. He ran the sound booth on Sunday for 14 yeas and loved to help with the Children's Christmas program. Walter recently became affiliated with Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene to be closer to his Sherwood home. Walter leaves to cherish and honor his memory his loving wife, Ellen, daughter and son-in-law, Cherish and David Bryns and granddaughters, Danielle and Emily, his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Joan Gigerich of Hot Springs and his sisters-in-law, Linda Fullerton (Gary) and Kay Keel. Walter was blessed with nephews and nieces that he loved dearly, Brent and Taylor, Craig and Lacy, Gigi and Gary, Shawn and Heather, Lara and Todd, Jared and Jennifer, Marie and Chris and Chuck. He also leaves 16 grandnieces and nephews and friends in Arkansas and around the country too numerous to count. Walter was a dual member in Alumina Masonic Lodge #312 and Adoniram Masonic Lodge #288. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and a past Patron of Adoniram OES #288. Walter was a proud senior DeMolay from Hot Springs chapter. He served as State DeMolay Dad, State Ritual Governor and was a member of the International Supreme Council Order of DeMolay. Walter was a Past State Rainbow Dad, State Executive Board member, Grand Assembly Director and Supreme Totter for Arkansas Rainbow Grand Assembly. Walter was the Rainbow Division Director of the Frank Marshal Ritual Championship Tournament. Walter and his wife have shared the privilege of serving the Masonic youth of Arkansas for almost forty years. One of the greatest joys in Walter's life was to be called "Dad" by a member of Rainbow or DeMolay in Arkansas, Oklahoma or wherever Walter and Ellen traveled together along the Rainbow trail. The family wishes to thank Dr. Brad Baltz, Dr. Rhonda Gentry the staff at Hematology Oncology Services of Arkansas and the staff and nurses at Little Rock Baptist Medical Center for exceptional care given with loving hearts.
