Alene (Happy) Hoofman

Alene (Happy) Hoofman, 85, of Judsonia, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010. She was born the daughter of Thurman and Ora (Cravens) Burchfield on June 10, 1925, in Oil Trough, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Judsonia, where she was a nursery worker for many years. She also worked in the cafeteria for the Judsonia School District. Alene was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Hoofman; two children, Barbara (Hoofman) Browning and Jimmy Hoofman; and two brothers, Bud and Hayden Burchfield. She is survived by one brother, Robert Burchfield; one sister, Kitty Hardy both of Knoxville, Tenn.; three sons, Ron Hoofman, of Little Rock, Roger Hoofman of North Little Rock, and David Hoofman of Judsonia; one daughter, Pam White of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren, Meko Browning, Rhonda Browning, Brandon White, Will Hoofman, Allen Hoofman, Jessica Hoofman, Heathe Downes, and Kelly White; two great-grandchildren, Britney Barnett and Bianca Browning. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Services will be held Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at the 1st Baptist Church in Judsonia at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia, Ark. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
