Odis Shaw, age 85, of Benton, went to be with his Heavenly Father and family members on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010. He was born May 4, 1925 in Hot Springs, Ark. Mr. Shaw was owner and operator of Shaw's Garage in Benton for 40 years and then became the shop foreman for Humes Utilities for 20 years. He has been a member of Fairplay Baptist Church since 1947. Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents, Lewellen and Leddie Mae Shaw; four siblings, Gilbert "Gib", Ruey, Margaret and Robert "Bob" and a special son-in-law, Hermon Humes. He is survived by the love of his life of 66 years, Mildred Shaw of Benton; a loving father of two daughters, Carolyn Sepulvado (Pat) of Malvern and Linda Humes of Benton; brother, Danny Shaw of Benton; two sisters, Pauline Allen of Corpus Christi, Texas and Virdy Dabbs of Bessimer, Ala.; four grandchildren, Tony Dunn, Vallerie Ahart, Jase Humes (Amber) and Kacee Humes; two great-grandchildren, Tony Jr. and Mackie Ahart and a host of extended family. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Ten Mile Cemetery. Family Comments: Paw enjoyed McClard's Barbeque, gardening and fishing, but Paw always loved "us most". He also leaves behind his cat, Tom and his dog, Daisy. Online guest book at
