Hensley M. "Pete" McKissack, 81, of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 22, 2010. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He dedicated 42 years of his life to military service, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After the war he served as a civil engineer with the Air National Guard and was a mentor to many young men in the Guard. In retirement he was an active builder of homes and commercial property; avid gardener giving to the Food Bank and people in the community. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Patricia Pierson McKissack; daughter, Cindy McKissack; his parents, Aarin and Frances McKissack; and brother, Ernest McKissack. He is survived by his wife, Merry Lue Wortman McKissack; daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Chris Cutter of Conway; Kim and Tommy Mitchell of Conway; stepdaughters and their husbands, Patty and Bo Griffin; Janice and Terry Womack; brothers, Louie McKisssack and Jerry McKissack all of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 26, 2010 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend David Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209 (501) 455-5800.
