Louis M. Crain, 84, of Alexander, died November 22, 2010 in Little Rock. He was born September 16, 1926 in Camden, Arkansas to the late Clint and Alta Martha (Lampkin) Crain. After attending Chidester High School, he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army from December 28, 1944 to November 30, 1946 and in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1953. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and of the Baptist faith and a self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marzelia "Bugs" Crain, four brothers, Calvin, Wallace, Leonard and Orland and one sister, Alieen Stewart. Survivors include two sons, David Crain of Alexander and Bill Cookson, of Sheridan; two daughters, Barbara Tolson (Judd) of Little Rock and Martha Wherry (Carroll) of Greenbrier; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends Graveside services will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Joe Campbell officiating. Visitation will be general and open during business hours.
