Clara Davis Grissom

Clara Davis Grissom, 98, of DeWitt died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at her home. She was born at Town Creek, Alabama on May 10, 1912 to William W, and Willie Davis. Survivors include her children: Alfie Pike (Bud), Janice Clawson, Faye Danner (Kenny) all of DeWitt, Doris Perritt (Tommy) of Almyra, Sheila Carter (Larry) of Brinkley, William Grissom (Nancy), Nathan Grissom (Judy) all of Tennessee, brother, Walter Davis of Leighton, Alabama, sisters: Stella Grissom and Lenice HoIt of Tuscumbia, Alabama, 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded In death by her husband, Nathaniel; brother, Harmon Davis, sisters: Anna Mae Grissom and Lena Hill; daughter, Nadean Mannis and son, J.W. Grissom. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Sunday, November 28th at DeWitt Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m., Sunday at the funeral home until time of service.
