Elsie Sloan Brands

On Nov. 25, 2010, Elsie Sloan Brands left her beloved family and was greeted at Heaven's gate. Born on Valentine's Day, 1931, she was 79 years of age. Elsie leaves behind her family, sons Michael and Glenda Brands of Grayville, Ill., Jerry and Brenda Brands of Catoosa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Brands of Scotts Bluff, Neb., Matthew and Stacey Brands of Thayer, Kan., and Nathan and Kelsey Brands of Kansas City, Mo., both of Tulsa. There also left three great-grandchildren, Allysha, Ethan and Grace Brands. Preceded in death by husband Gerald Brands, parents, Daniel and Ellen Sloan, and brother TA Sloan. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Somers Avenue Church of Christ in North Little Rock with burial at Mulberry Cemetery, England, Ark. Elsie requested in lieu of flowers donations to be given to the Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo. to the Gerald Brands Family Scholarship Fund.
