John F. Lovell Jr. of Benton passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2010. He was Born on November 1, 1935 at Camp Quapaw Boy Scout Camp in Benton, AR . He was a man who loved his family whole heartedly and lived his life with generosity, warmth and humor. He was preceded in death by his father John F. Lovell Sr. mother, Lola Richmond Lovell brothers and sisters, Thad Lovell, Morris Lovell, J. Keith Lovell, Narrie Lancaster and Mae John Swatty. He leaves behind his greatest treasures: his wife of 51 years Bobbye Berry Lovell, his daughter Leslie Lovell Klanchar, son-in-law Michael and grandson John Michael Klanchar, his son Steele Quentin Lovell and grandson, Johnathon Barrett Lovell, two sisters, Eva Lee Elder and Peggy Shell. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. John F. Lovell Jr. graduated Benton High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1957 with one year of service in Japan. In 1961 he graduated from the University of Arkansas and earned his law degree May 31, 1967. His law practice has been in Benton for over 40 years. He practiced his profession, as he did his life, with the highest level of integrity. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to spend time outside riding his tractor and spending time on his land with his grandsons. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Bar Association and licensed in practice in both State and Federal Courts. He volunteered his legal services to the Benton Senior Adult Center and to the Saline County Boys and Girls Club. His talent for remembering names and faces was a gift. Friends and people that knew him were always met with a firm handshake and a genuine hello. He was often a man of few words but a strong presence. Family and friends that loved him knew his gentle spirit, loving kindness , his quick wit, his big heart and his unconditional love. Visitation will be held at Ashby Funeral Home of Benton, 108 West Narroway , on Monday evening, November 29 from 6 until 8. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 30 at 10:00 AM at Ashby Funeral Home . Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
