MARGARET CARLENE PEARCE, 88, of Little Rock, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010. She was born Jan. 9, 1922 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Emory and Ethel Bowden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dale Pearce; brother, Leon Bowden and a daughter, Sandra K. Latture. Carlene grew up in Fort Smith, Ark. where she later raised her family and became a part of the community. While in Fort Smith, she was an active member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She and her husband were active in the lives of Sandy and Jennifer, and enjoyed dancing, socializing with friends, and playing bridge. As a family they enjoyed attending Razorback games and boating at Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma. Carlene was a resident of Woodland Heights, where she was active playing bridge and watching her beloved Razorbacks along with the many other social activities she enjoyed. She was also a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She leaves as a loving mother, dear family member, and treasured friend. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As the ultimate caregiver for her family and friends she served as a wonderful role model for her daughters to follow. Carlene was respected and admired by all who came into her life. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Moore and husband, Ken; grandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Paul Latture III and wife, Jennifer, and Brian Latture and wife, Allison; great-granddaughters, Abigail and Claudia Latture and a sister, Lorraine Bowden. Carlene was appreciative to so many including the staff and members of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the staff and friends at Woodland Heights, the physicians and staff at St. Vincent's Hospital and Arkansas Hospice. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at 10 a.m., officiated by Rev. Blake Bradford. A private burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72207.
