Edith Marie Reynolds Draper, 96 of Hot Springs, formerly of El Dorado, passed away November 27, 2010, West Shores Retirement Community in Hot Springs. Born October 7, 1914, she was the daughter of Thomas Allison Reynolds, Sr. and Jewel Elizabeth Lindsey Reynolds. She attended Southern State College in Magnolia, AR to obtain a Music Degree, she was a member of First Baptist Church of El Dorado, enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and caring for others. Edith had a life-long love of music and the piano. She had a campus radio program in college on which she played piano, read poetry and short stories. She later taught piano lessons to many young people, played piano at church and recitals and taught Sunday School. She was loved by all who knew her. She spent her life helping others. She will always be remembered by her beautiful smile. Preceding her in death are her husband, Cecil R. Draper; a son, Dr. Martin A. Draper; brothers, Thomas A. Reynolds and Clyde C. Reynolds; and sister, Opal McCoy. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Breashears of Hot Springs, Ark. and Pat Thompson and husband Ben of Madison, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Adam, Dana, Dayton, Chris, Jason, Amber, Jeff, and Michael; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Della Reynolds. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Young's. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Young's Chapel with Rev. Ben Early officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. We know there are angels among us and we thank God for sending a special angel, a compassionate caregiver, Judie McMillion, to attend to our mother for the last 12 ½ years and prepare her for her journey to life eternal. Also, the family wishes to thank special friend, Emon Tatum, for 30 years of faithful service and friendship to our family. We will always remember him for his loyalty and dedication.
