Buel R. Hopkins

Buel R. Hopkins, 91, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Jacksonville. He was born February 17, 1919 in Logan County, Arkansas. Mr. Hopkins retired from Franklin Electric and enjoyed his farm and cattle for many years. Buel was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church for over 67 years, loved the Lord, his family, and his many friends, and neighbors. He was loved by many and a friend to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mattie Sory Hopkins, his beloved wife, Masa and daughter, Donna Gray, as well as sons-in-law Rex Martin, and Ronald Gray. Buel was also preceded in death by his brother, Virgil Hopkins; sisters, Alice Thompson, Ruby Mullins, Dorothy Janeway, Lois Powell, and Anna Clifton, and sister-in-law, Elsie Carmical. Mr. Hopkins leaves behind his son, Johnny and wife, Brenda; daughters, Diana Martin, and Janice Jones; granddaughters, Dawn Hearn (Keaton), Angela Davis (Jerrod), Sheli Gray, Dara Calley (Bree), Lauren, and Kristen Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Grant, and Rex Hearn, and Reese Calley. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot, with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
