Nancy Lee Taylor Sturm

Perry, GA, 1933 - 2010

Nancy Lee Taylor Sturm passed away on October 2, 2010 in Perry, Ga. after a long illness.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Perry United Methodist Church with entombment following in Perry Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Reverend Jenny Jackson Adams and Reverend Roland Fall will officiate.
She was born on January 29, 1933 to Judge Elmo Taylor and Nancy Lee Yarnell Taylor in Searcy, Ark. She graduated from Searcy High School as Salutatorian and attended Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA). Nancy and her husband, Bill, have been long time residents of Perry where she was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and two bridge clubs. She loved being with her family, friends and the "Bridge Ladies," playing cards, reading, cooking, antiquing and sharing stories and family history.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Walter R. and Irene Acree Sturm and her sister, Mildred Taylor Wilbourn. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William R. "Bill" Sturm; one sister, Mary Lou Dunn of Searcy, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Dolores A. Sturm of Uvalde, Texas and four children: Karen Mode and husband Floyd of Little Rock, Ark.; Rebecca Long and husband Michael "Mike" of Perry, Ga.; William R. "Bill" Sturm Jr. and wife Julie of Overland Park, Kan. and Leslie Sinyard of Perry, Ga.; three nephews and nieces, numerous cousins and extended family. She had eight grandchildren: Nancy Evans of Boston, Mass. and Sarah Evans of Perry, Ga.; Katie and Will Sinyard of Perry, Ga.; Kris and Patrick Sturm of Overland Park, Kan.; Chad Alligood of New York, N.Y. and Chelsea Long of Perry, Ga.
