Betty Jean Smith Walloch, 79, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, October 4, 2010, at her home with her daughters at her side. Born December 1, 1930 in Biscoe, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Jewel Smith. Betty grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in May 1948. She married Freddy J. Walloch in April 1950 and co-owned Walloch Home Center, Inc. for over 30 years. Betty was responsible for the financial end of the business during those years. She was a member of South Highland Baptist Church and later Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock. A great mom and grandma, she will be dearly missed. The family wants to thank Irene McCoy for being there for us. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Archie C. Smith, Jr., Morris L. Smith, and Russell A. Long; sister, Marjorie O. Parks, and former husband, Freddy J. Walloch. Survivors include a son, Rusty Walloch; daughters, Gail Walloch Fisher and Becky Walloch, all of Little Rock; brother, Dr. Bob W. Smith of Searcy; and sisters, Clara F. Massey of Cherry Valley, Virginia A. Heathman of Osceola, Missouri, and Bonnie S. Solomon of Benton; grandchildren, Stephen Walloch, Lindsay Walloch Rodriguez and Jonathan Fisher; and a great-grandson, Elijah Rodriguez. The family will receive friends at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, October 7th. The funeral service will be at 12 noon, Friday, October 8th in the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
