Gene A. Kelley

Gene A. Kelley, 76, of Springdale, Ark. passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Fayetteville City Hospital. Gene was born on March 24, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, a son of Frank and Doris (Simpson) Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cathrine Kelley; five brothers and two sisters. He worked as a steel worker and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Springdale, Kelley. He enjoyed restoring motorcycles, golfing, his flower garden and was an avid reader. He is survived by five children, Karen Griffin and husband Terry of Hindsville, Ark.; Twila Klense of Tulsa, Okla.; Sheila Masa of Springdale, Ark.; Garland Kelley and wife Karen of Johnson, Ark.; and Terri Hughey of Springdale, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kezia "Sue"DeiGeorio of Arizona. A visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cremation arrangements will follow under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
