Ratha Roberta McCord, born May 22, 1924 in Waldron, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Oct. 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Bryon McCord, her parents William and Fanny McGar, one brother, Toy McGar, three sisters, Eva Johnson, Laura Thomas and Mary Lour Hunt. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Knox Garner and husband, Ben of Camden, two grandsons, Clay Knox and wife, Libby of Spring Hill, Ark., and Tyler Knox and wife Spencer of Camden. Two step-granddaughters, Kelly Bixler and husband, Bryan of Texarkana, Ark., and Brooke Garner of Camden. Two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lacy Knox of Spring Hill, Ark., and three great-step-grandchildren, Madelyn and Kathryn Bixler of Texarkana and Kasin Garner of Camden. One sister, Leora Haga of Pea Ridge, one niece, who has been like a daughter, Sharon Leggett and husband, David of Camden and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McCord was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Christian and founding member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Ruby Snyder Center and loved the St. Louis Cardinals and playing games especially "Dirty Santa." The family will receive friends at Proctor's Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Foster officiating.
