Mary Ann Moore King Battles, 85, of Little Rock, wife of the late Adam B. Battles, departed this life Friday, October 8, 2010. She was born in Plumerville, Arkansas to the late Rosella and Daniel Moore. She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age. In 1962 she moved to Connecticut and joined Mount Olive Baptist Church and served in several auxiliaries of the church. After returning to Little Rock in September 2008 she joined Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one brother, Danny Lee Moore of New Orleans, La.; one sister, Margaret Henry of Los Angeles, Calif.; cousins, Ofredia Lewis, Dorothy Daniels, and Oceola Bowers all of Little Rock, Loucies Rice Jr. and William Harold Moore of Plumerville, Ark., Aubery Winston (Udell) of Tulsa, Okla., Charlene Templeton (George) of Wildwood, Mo., Mary Francis Rice of Hot Springs, Mary Brockman (Frank) and Thomas Dunbar (Lorene) of Morrilton, Ark., and Rose Smith (James) of Conway.
Family hour is Friday, October 15, 2010, 6-7 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester St., Little Rock. Mrs. Battles' funeral service will be Saturday, October 16, 2010, 11 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 1215 Schiller St., Little Rock.
