James E. "Pete" Moreland

James E. "Pete" Moreland, 82 of Watson, Arkansas died October 18, 2010 in Dumas, Arkansas. He was born July 26, 1928 in Lonoke, Arkansas the son of the late, T.R. and Fannie Pearl Chambers Moreland. His four brothers, Tommy, Amuel, Neal and Carl Moreland preceded him in death. Mr. Moreland was a member of the Watson Baptist Church, served on the Watson Chamber of Commerce, Watson School Board, Watson City Council and FHA Council. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Merline Moreland and two sons, Doyan Moreland and Jimmy Moreland all of Watson, Arkansas; two brothers, Charles Wayne Moreland of McGehee, Arkansas and Marlie Moreland of Watson, Arkansas; five sisters, Sue Hill of Dumas, Arkansas, Betty Thompson of Scott, Louisiana, Brenda Morgan of McGehee, Arkansas, Glenda Ward of Huntsville, Alabama and Debbie Robinson of White Hall, Arkansas, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation held Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 5-8 p.m., at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Services held 10 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Monta Kellebrew officiating followed by interment in Watson Cemetery. Arrangements: Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Arkansas.
