Everton Glen Reed, age 88, passed away on October 21, 2010 in Plano, Texas. Everton was born on August 10, 1922 in Austin, Arkansas, the son of Clarence B. Reed and Catherine Ramsey Reed. He was married to Sarah Nadine Reed for 53 years before her passing in 2000. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Terrie Reed of Plano, Texas, by granddaughter, Bethany Ishee and her husband Mike also of Plano, Texas and by his grandson, Charles Reed and his wife Lisa of Cartersville, Ga., by seven great-grandchildren; Amelia, Sarah, Martha, Rebecca, Laura Ishee and Adam and William Reed. Also surviving are his sister, Dorothy McKay of Sherwood, Ark. and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Reed was a WWII veteran, serving in Europe as a member of the 12th Armored Division in the United States Army. He was a former resident of Phoenix living there from 1948 until 1999. While in Phoenix, he and his family were active members of the Hope American Baptist Church. He was also a retired employee of the Ray Lumber Company in Phoenix. Graveside services will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Cabot, Ark. on Saturday October 23, 2010 at the 10 am under the direction of Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot, Ark.
