Mildred Peterson

MILDRED JONES PETERSON, 84, of Little Rock, a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Baptist Medical Rehabilitative Institute. She was retired from Arkansas Power and Light Company (Entergy) and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Survivors include sons, Michael Peterson of Little Rock, Bruce Peterson of St. Louis, Mo., and Gary Peterson (Sherita) of Louisville, Ky.; daughter, Barbara Tyler (Jimmy) of Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Toni Ford-Peterson of Memphis; sister, Catherine Simmons of Little Rock; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Obsequies will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Oct. 29, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 1215 South Schiller. Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Mt. Sinai, 3415 Ludwig-LR. Services entrusted to GateWay Funeral Chapel, "Your Entrance to Eternity", 2405 South Gaines. Open visitation will also be Thursday noon-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 376-7188. During the week, the family will be home at 2904 Center Street.
