HELEN JANE ROGERS CATO died Oct. 23, 2010. She was born Aug. 13, 1919 to Rose Sinclair and Henry Nelson Rogers in Pottsville, Ark. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Daryl "Pete" Cato who in 1970, her parents and two sisters, Marhea Rogers Wilson and Judy Rogers Rogers. She attended Arkansas Tech for two years and graduated from Arkansas Teachers College, now know as University of Central Arkansas. Her degree was Home Economics. She lived most of her life in Earle, Ark., where she was a homemaker and active in the First Presbyterian Church. She later returned to teaching and taught the second grade in Earle. Survivors include, Judy Carol Cato Haddad (John), Ellen Cato Crouthers, and Linda Cato Humphries (Steve); five grandchildren, Ellis Haddad, Nelson Haddad, Court Crouthers, Matt Humphries and Laura Humphries Dickinson and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Nell Rogers Townsend of San Marino, Calif. We would like to thank the staff at Briarwood Nursing Home for the outstanding care she received over the last 4 ½ years. Visitation will be 1-2 Oct. 26 at Roller-Citizen's Funeral Home in West Memphis. There will be a service immediately following the visitation. The interment will be at Crittenden Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Potluck, Inc. 621 West Broadway, North Little Rock, Ark., 72114 or the charity of your choice.
