Ludie Joy Shinn Anthes, 87 of Conway, joined God in Heaven Saturday. Ludie was born May 26, 1923 in Magnolia, AR. She was a business woman and homemaker. For 45 years, she and her husband Paul owned and operated hotels in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas. The focus of her life was on God and family, and she served both as faithfully as any human possibly could. In 1966, she was a founding member of Harlan Park Baptist Church, where she taught the Rebecca Sunday School for 35 years. Mrs. Anthes was preceded to Heaven by her husband of 66 years, Paul; parents Isaac and Henrietta (Clary) Shinn; and four brothers and one sister. She is survived by sons Eddie and wife Rhonda of Conway and David and wife Gail of Russellville; grandchildren Jason, Yanci, Carter, Michelle, Aimee', Jon, Brandon, and Tyler; and two great-grandchildren. The love and support she gave her children and grandchildren were unwavering and without question. Thank you for all you did for us. We love you and will miss you so. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at Harlan Park Baptist Church, with Gary Mitchell and Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Carter Walker, Jon Anthes, Tyler Anthes, Brandon Anthes, Dewayne Tyus, and Joe Howerton. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Day and Larry Root. Special thanks to Dr. Diane France, Mrs. Pat Howerton, Dewayne Tyus, and Charles Day.
