Marie Frances Bergob Williams, 90, a Yell County resident for more than 40 years, died Oct. 21. She was born March 14, 1920, in Loretto, Tenn., daughter of Joseph Bergob and Lena Gunselman. She was a registered nurse with a long career that included work at Dardanelle Hospital, Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville and Oak Ridge National Laboratories in Tennessee during the 1940s. She was a member of Catholic Women's Union and St. Augustine Catholic Church Altar Society. She was a volunteer with American Red Cross and Share & Care, as well as a summer camp nurse and volunteer at Subiaco Academy. She was known among her family, friends and church community for her charity, loyalty and for being a reliable neighbor. Quilting, sewing, cooking, baking, playing bingo and gardening (she had a green thumb) were among her hobbies. Her Italian cream cakes were quick sellers at bake sales, and her chicken and dumplings, and turkey and dressing dishes were holiday favorites. She enjoyed the outdoors, travel and music. She won several trophies for bowling in league play, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Seymour of Elkins and Adele Williams of Dardanelle; two sons, Wayne Williams of Boone, N.C., and Jeff Williams of Sherwood; two daughters-in-law, Mary Williams and Kelley Cooper; a son-in-law, Renny Seymour; two granddaughters, Blair Turner and Greer Williams, and four grandsons, Jason Swetnam, Austin Turner, Barret Seymour and Nicholas Sumbles. Rosary will be 6 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29, at Cornwell Funeral Home, 207 Quay St., in Dardanelle; visitation will follow, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. A funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1001 N. Second St., in Dardanelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Subiaco Abbey and Academy or the American Cancer Society.
