Rose Mary Messing

Rose Messing, 100 years, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, loving wife, mother, grandmother of 12, and great-grandmother of 18, left this life to be reunited with the Lord on October 21, 2010. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar Society and "Why Catholic" study group. Rose was born on October 5, 1910, to Mary Armatis Kusek and Joseph Kusek in Spalding, Nebraska. She met her husband Martin in Columbus, Neb., and they were married in 1938 and raised three children in Omaha, Neb. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Martin and three sisters, Loretta Kusek, Valerie Kusek, and Betty Kusek. Surviving her are Angeline Kusek of Omaha and Richard Kusek of Denver, Colo.; her three children, Rosemary and husband Gerald Donovan, James J. and wife Victoria Messing, and Ronald and wife Devona, all from Colorado; also many cousins in and around Omaha, Shelby, and surrounding areas. Vigil Thursday, 7 p.m., St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Funeral mass Friday, 10 a.m., St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment Woodland Memorial Park.
