James Edward "Jim" Wyckoff, 83, of Hensley passed away on October 26th, 2010. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on November 1, 1926 to the late Lowell Wyckoff and Sue (DeLoney) Nichelson. Jim was a decorated World War II veteran who served as an expert gunner and as a M.P. He was a member of the Arkansas Bowling Hall of Fame and started covering bowling for the Arkansas Democrat in 1949. He founded the Southern Bowling Writers Association in 1979 and bowled in over 50 ABC tournaments. He traveled with the PBA Tour to France and Japan and all over the United States. Jim was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and bowled on the Scimitar Bowling League. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Erva (Watson); his special stepdaughter Janet Stockton of Benton; Special neighbor Joy Sills, who checked on him daily and took him for daily walks; his son James (Jimbo) Wyckoff of Mayflower; his daughter Jan Wyckoff of Florida; his sons Teddy and Ronald Wyckoff, both of Little Rock; his brother Ronald Wyckoff of Battlebrough, Vermont and his special family pet and companion, Sally. Graveside services will be on Friday at 2 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Family visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
