Memorial services for Dr. Steven McCrae Brazeel, M.D., of Monroe, La., formerly of Warren, Ark., will be 2 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2010 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Steven will be eulogized by Dr. Steven Cathey. Dr. Steven McCrae Brazeel, M.D., age 55, of Monroe, La., passed away at his home on October 27, 2010. He was born September 4, 1955 in Panama City, Florida to James A. Brazeel and Mildred Neely Brazeel. He was the eldest son of an Air Force family and lived in California, Texas, Hawaii, and New York. He graduated from Warren High School in 1973 followed by The University of Arkansas with high honors. He was a graduate of The University of Arkansas School of Medical Sciences, and served his residency at LSU School of Medicine, Shreveport, La. He later earned a Masters Degree in administration from The University of Wisconsin at Madison. Steven was a nationally ranked swimmer from the age of 12 until age 19 and held numerous state records in the state of Arkansas and continued his love of swimming up until the age of 45 at the level of a Master swimmer champion in Louisiana and Mississippi. He was also a private pilot and aviation enthusiast. Steven was a talented physician and administrator in Monroe and surrounding communities for the past 20 plus years. He is survived by his three daughters, Caroline McCrae Brazeel, Sean Rose Brazeel, and Stephanie Dawn Brazeel of Monroe and their mother, Dr. Jane Mickey. His parents of Warren, Ark. and his brother, Daniel J. Brazeel and wife Liz and their daughters, Audrey and Lane of Aurora, Colorado, and a very special friend, Jean Noell of Little Rock, Ark, uncle Robert Payne and his wife, Nicky and numerous family members and friends. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
