Brenda Feagin Adams

Brenda Feagin Adams died peacefully on Oct. 29, 2010 with her family at her side. She lost a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, brother, friend and mentor. Brenda is a bright shining light that will be truly missed. Brenda was born Dec. 11, 1946. She was the daughter of Wanda (Lindsey) and ZL Feagin. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Missy) Glaze Coleman of Santa Fe, N.M. and two cherished grandchildren, Chance and Story and son-in-law Scott. Brenda is the sister of Pat (Jerry) Smith of Bradford, and Bill (Donna) Feagin of Bald Knob and father ZL Feagin of Velvet Ridge. She also leaves a wonderful friend, Dean Smith of Pleasant Plains. Brenda attended Bald Knob High School and Arkansas State University. She graduated from Tarlton State University in Stephenville, Texas with a degree in Nursing. Brenda was a registered nurse and employed at Byrd Haven Nursing Home in Searcy. She was a dedicated nursing professional for more than 15 years and was a mentor and friend to many in the nursing community. Brenda is preceded in death by her mother Wanda Feagin, brother Gary Feagin, Grandmother Lorene Lindsey, and niece Gina Feagin Altom. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Velvet Ridge Church of Christ with burial to follow at Velvet Ridge Cemetery. There will be a family luncheon hosted by Velvet Ridge Church of Christ at 12:30 p.m. before funeral services. Family and friends of Brenda are welcome to attend. The family extends a heartfelt and very special thank you to Byrd Haven Nursing Home for the wonderful care and love extended to Brenda while she was there. In lieu of flowers, please donate a gift in Brenda's honor to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society and/or a Hospice Care organization in the community. She was a gift. She will be missed.
