Carl Chase Dean

Carl Chase Dean, born Feb. 18, 1932, passed August 26, 2010. Born in Camden, Ark., he resided in Hot Springs Village since 2000 and most recently lived with his son and daughter-in-law in Louisville, Ky. Carl graduated from Camden High School, attended Louisiana Tech, and was an Army Military Policeman during the Korean War. He worked in electrical engineering and later telecommunications, was a Boy Scout leader, and was active in the Hot Springs Village Bible Church. Carl also enjoyed golf and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Chase Dean, and mother, Maude Russell Dean. Carl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Byars Dean; his son, Douglas Chase Dean (Mary Beth); and grandchildren, Mary Joanna and Kevin Chase Dean. The family would like to thank the staff of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville for their selfless devotion. Memorial donations can be made in Carl's name to the Hot Springs Village Bible Church. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Hot Springs Village Bible Church at 1 pm on September 11, 2010.
