ALBERT LEIGH TENNEY, 85, of North Little Rock died Sept. 1, 2010. Leigh was born on Feb. 15, 1925, in Independence County, Ark. He was the son of George, Sr. and Ruth Tenney and the youngest of four children. Leigh was a 1943 graduate of North Little Rock High School; received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas Law School. He married Edna Mae Miller of North Little Rock, Ark. in 1944. He served with Company I in the 271st Infantry Regiment, 69th Infantry Division during WWII. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, two Battle Stars, European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and two Bronze Stars. He served with the Army National Guard for thirty years and was vice-president of the Arkansas National Guard Association. He served as the standing Chapter 13 trustee for 33 years and the Chapter 12 trustee for 9 years. Leigh was a charter member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and served as president on the board of directors. After retirement, he served as its executive director for five years. He was also a charter member of the National Association of Chapter 12 Trustees. He was awarded a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy in the Great Hall of the United States Supreme Court. He treasured his years as a trustee and was extremely proud of his staff, which he called the best in the country. Leigh was a member of Park Hill Presbyterian Church since 1959, where he served as a deacon, elder, superintendent of Sunday school, clerk of session, member of the choir, member of the men's fellowship group (and frequent cook); and member of the Fifty-Plus group. He volunteered at Stew Pot, feeding the homeless for over 25 years and was a volunteer at the Hospice at Fort Roots in North Little Rock. He was a member of the North Little Rock School Board and on the LPOA Board of Directors. Leigh was an avid and devoted Razorback fan. He held season tickets for both Little Rock and Fayetteville football games since the 1940's, season tickets in basketball for nearly twenty years and was an active member of the Razorback Foundation. Leigh is survived by his wife Mae; his daughter, Dinda Hemphill and her husband, Mike; his grandson, Zak Hemphill and his wife, Arline; and his great-grandson, Landen Hemphill. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bodine; and his brothers, John and George Jr. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Park Hill Presbyterian. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F.
