DOYLE ELLIS, 87, of North Little Rock passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010. He was born on May 3, 1923, in DeAnn, Ark., to the late B. J. and Molly Ellis. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda; son, James Michael Ellis; two sisters, Pearl Gill and Dorothy Akins; two brothers, Austin and Clovis Ellis. Doyle was a member of Lakewood Methodist Church where he attended the George Martin Class. He was a devoted Christian with a great love for his family. He never lost his quick wit or sharp humor. He served in the Navy as a baker in WWII. He retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad, and upon retirement became an avid golfer and reminded his grandson many times about his hole in one. He was a 33rd degree Mason and Shriner. He is survived by his son, Phillip and wife, Judy of Hot Springs; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Jo Ellis of North Little Rock; brother, P. J. Ellis of Little Rock; grandchildren, Daniel of Minneapolis, Minn., Gabriel and Neysa Ellis of Hot Springs, Olivia Ellis of North Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Bryce Ellis. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Lakewood United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 501-791-7400.
