JEAN B. KUMPURIS, 84, of Little Rock passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010. She was born in Augusta, Ga., to the late James and Evanthea (Kalos) Blanos on May 6, 1926. Jean was a faithful member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was a charter member of the Lily Garden Club and the Heightswood Garden Club. Jean was a past board member and officer of the Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. Jean was known as a gourmet Greek cook. Also, her pineapple upside down cake was requested by all. She enjoyed volunteering as an Airport Angel greeting travelers. Her greatest accomplishment was her family; she was married for over 40 years to her husband Charles who preceded her in death in 1985. Her parents, her sister Helen Stathakis and brother George Blanos also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Jeanne Spencer and her husband Dan; her son Charles Kumpuris Jr. and his wife Linda; her grandchildren Jana Hunter and her husband Mark, Christopher Spencer and his wife Kate, Chad Kumpuris, and Jennifer Berry and her husband Robert; her sister Katherine Blanos; her brothers Nick Blanos and Pat Blanos and his wife Tootsie; her great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Daniel, Shelby, Josh, and Hunter; and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss her endearing smile and loving personality. Trisagion Service will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home with visitation to follow at the home of Jeanne and Dan Spencer. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Nicholas J. Verdaris as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Alan Heath, Pete Vratsinas, Dean Hronas, Adam Khamis, Gus Vratsinas, George Plastiras, Joe Dickey, and John Duke Nix.
