Savannah Frazier Washington 86, a long time resident of E1 Dorado, Arkansas and Little Rock, Arkansas passed September 2, 2010 in Garland, Texas after a lengthy illness. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday September 11, 2010 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 908 Cross Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202. Burial will be Monday September 13, 2010, 10 a.m., at Little Rock National Cemetery, 2523 Confederate Boulevard, Little Rock, Arkansas 72206. She had 39 diligent years of service working as a secretary which included 23 years at Washington High School in El Dorado, Arkansas, 15 years at El Dorado High School and one year of service with the Thompson School District in Urbana, Arkansas. In 1997, she joined forces with her husband, the late James E. Washington, working with the Mount Zion Baptist Church Food Pantry, which he started in 1994. In 2002, The James and Savannah Washington Multi-Purpose Center was named in their honor and the legacy of their service is reflected throughout the community. Survivors are her son, Robert L. Frazier, Jr.; two daughters, Olivia F. Kerr and Vanessa F. Hardamon; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
