M. Colene (Elmer) Croft

M. Colene (Elmer) Croft, 81, of Conway, Arkansas, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at her home. She was born September 15, 1928, in Omaha, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Rutherford "Hayes" and Naomi Ethel (Gaines) Elmer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Blaine Elmer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She was a graduate of the School of the Ozarks, had attended Arkansas College in Batesville, and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She taught at Mt. Pleasant, Salem, Bentonville, Yellville and Melbourne, Arkansas Colene is survived by her husband of 61 years and three days, Kenneth A. Croft; daughters, Rebecca Ann Campbell and husband Michael of Virginia; Margaret Parilee Croft, Nina Ruth Baker and husband David all of Conway; grandchildren, Rachel Anne Campbell, Andrew Michael Campbell, David L. Baker III; siblings Lois Anderson, Vivian Crowder,Lessie Speed, Esco Elmer, Owen Elmer, and Gussie Redfearn. Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Finley Creek Cemetery, Sage, Arkansas, with Bro. John Greer officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael V. Campbell, David L. Baker, David L. Baker III, Andrew M. Campbell, Esco Elmer and Owen Elmer. Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, 501-327-7727.
