Stephan Dewayne Davenport, 49, passed away August 25, 2010. Steve was born to Emmitt and Jean Davenport December 27, 1960. Steve was a 911 Dispatcher for North Little Rock Communications for 19 years and loved his job. He was also a part time Sheriff's Deputy for Lonoke County Sheriffs office. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Susan Davenport. He is survived by his sister Brenda Walter of Shreveport, Louisiana, brothers, Butch Davenport of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tommy Davenport of Lonoke. Steve had his flaws as we all do, but he would give a stanger the shirt off his back if he could help someone, and he never met a stranger. Due to the nature of this event, a traditional funeral service will not be held. Instead, a celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday, September 11 at the Palm Street Church of Christ at the corner of Highway 70 and Palm Street in Lonoke, from 4-7 p.m. This casual gathering is for anyone who knew Steve or wants to express their condolences to the family. A memorial fund has been set up to help take care of Steve's last wishes, and can be sent to: The Steve Davenport Memorial Fund, Lonoke Banking Center, P.O. Box 750, Lonoke, Ark. 72086. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
