Gladys Glasscock Lancaster

Gladys Glasscock Lancaster, 86, of Kilgore, Texas, passed from this life to her eternal home on September 8, 2010. She was born August 4, 1924, to the late Dewey G. and Nina Bates Glasscock. She was a retired secretary for the University of Texas Petroleum Extension Service. Gladys enjoyed sewing, traveling, playing bridge, and volunteering. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore for over 40 years where she enjoyed volunteering her time. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al Lancaster; and sister, Laura Burgin. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Lewis and husband Jerald, and Anne Brumfield and husband Michael; five grandchildren, Connor, Hannah and Ryan Lewis, Stacey and Erin Brumfield; one brother, Dewey Glasscock and wife Betty of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Rachel Finley and husband Willis of Longview, Texas; and a host of other family members and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Leath and the staff at Eastman Estates for all their care and concern given to Gladys. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Ark.
