Tannie C. Garner

Tannie C. Garner, age 95, of Benton died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant. She was born on Nov. 11, 1914 in Owensville, Ark. Tannie was retired from the Colonial Nursing Home, a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lee and Mary Elizabeth Huchingson Burnett; husband, Samuel W. Garner; brother, Clinton Burnett; sisters, Mauda Vaughn, Ola Baxter, Arkie Rowan, and Lorene Goodwin. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and great, great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Family gives special thanks to all her care givers for their love and support. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Smith Creek Cemetery on Hway 228. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ashby's.
