Frank Randolph Vestal

Frank Randolph Vestal passed away September 15, 2010 in the presence of his family. He will be remembered as a gentleman possessed of a warm sense of humor, wit and unceasing affection for his family and those he loved. He was a graduate of Memphis Catholic High and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. His professional life was rooted deeply in the sporting goods industry. He was a pioneering figure in the development and production of fishing and hunting outdoor television programming, both in cable and syndication. He produced such shows as "The Southern Sportsman", "Bill Dance Outdoors", "Fishing with Roland Martin", Tom Mann "Outdoors" and Mark Sosin's "Saltwater Journal" through the 70's and 80's. He is survived by two sons, Ryan Vestal of Atlanta and Robin Vestal of Little Rock; grandson, Carter Vestal; ex-wife, Marty Vestal and daughter-in-law, Lindsey Vestal, both of Little Rock; brother, Donald Vestal and sister, Karen Vestal Morris both of Memphis and sister, Nancy Vestal Madlock of Pine Bluff. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 18 at 10 a.m. at Memphis Memory Gardens. Services entrusted to Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Avenue Extended, Memphis, Tenn. 901-452-6400.
