Mollie Worthen Hirsch

Mollie Worthen Hirsch, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, after a long life of service to her country, church and community. She was born July 9, 1909, to Lizzie Agee Worthen Hirsch and Irving Stafford Hirsch of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George and his wife, Liz and her nephew, John Hirsch (Denise) of Amarillo, Texas. She is survived by nephews, Bill (Terri) Hirsch of Tulsa, Okla. and Richard (Debbie) Hirsch of Austin, Texas, and will be very much missed by a large extended family in Nashville and Little Rock. Memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. In 1930, she graduated from Randolph Macon College. During WWII, she served with the Red Cross at the Guam Navy Hospital, and in the post-war period, at the Tokyo National Office of the Red Cross. She moved to Nashville, Tenn. in 1950.
