William Michael Dooley

WM. "MIKE" DOOLEY, 60, of Little Rock lost his life on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, in an auto accident. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Dooley and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Kay Dooley; his sisters, Karin (Paul) Mushrush, Lori Dooley (Denver) Ezell, Jane (Phil) Sanchez and Ann (Jim) McCoin; a nephew, Dax (Chelle) Toler; two nieces, Amanda (Erick) Cox and Samantha (Tim) Head; two uncles, Kenneth C. Walker and Harry P. Walker; and so many friends he held dear to his heart; and we must mention just one of many strays he took in, his cat, Speedy. Mike was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, he was a member of Scimitar Shrine and Fellowship North. Fellowship North was such a tremendous joy in Mike's life. Mike's life, though cut short, was full. He truly loved his family and friends. He traveled extensively, the United States and abroad, coming home with stories about the places he'd been. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, a Razorback backer, and he played golf, fished and hunted (with binoculars). He made his career at Little Rock City Hall, retiring after 33 years of service as an Economic Development Administrator. Whatever he did, he did it passionately. He truly loved his friends. If there is a "My Friends Place" in heaven, he and his dad are there! Words simply can't describe how much Mike was loved and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, Mike and his family request memorials be made to Fellowship North, One East 52nd Place, North Little Rock, Ark., 72116 or Scimitar Shrine, #1 Scimitar Circle, Little Rock, Ark., 72209. A memorial to celebrate Mike's life on earth will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock 72117.
