Royce Byers "Roby" Loveless, Jr, 66, of Alexander, Arkansas, began his eternal life with Jesus Christ on Monday, September 20, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1944, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to the late Margaret Elisabeth Welch and Royce Byers Loveless, Sr. Roby was a professing Christian, a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, Arkansas, and was ordained as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Clarendon, Arkansas. He graduated from Clarendon High School, Henderson State University, University of Central Arkansas, and received his Administrative Certificate from the University of Arkansas. He retired after 35 years in education, as a coach, principal, superintendent, and counselor, having served in Lakeside, Clarendon, Waldron, Pea Ridge, Bryant and Benton schools. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Maudie Elizabeth Livingston Loveless; two sons, Shawn A. Loveless of Euless, Texas and Royce Clayton "Clay" Loveless and wife Jessica of Alexander; one granddaughter, Aubrey of Alexander; one brother, Tim Welch Loveless and wife Ellen of Conway, Arkansas; one sister, Nancy Laura Joyner of Monroe, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander (501-455-1067). A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at First Southern Baptist Church, 604 S. Reynolds Road, Bryant, Ark. 72022 with Dr. Patrick Mead officiating. Roby's earthly remains will be cremated and inurned in the columbarium at Pinecrest Memorial Park at a later date.
