Albert Lee "Doonie" Jones Jr.
San Francisco, CAAlbert Lee "Doonie" Jones Jr., 70, of San Francisco, Calif., by way of Little Rock's West End transitioned to eternity in his home Aug. 5, 2010. He was one of 12 children, the sixth child, and first son born to Albert Sr. and Julia Weekly Jones. He was baptized in his youth at First Baptist Church-Highland Park. After high school graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he became an expert in computer technology. He later became a systems analyst and designed computer systems for businesses, including some Fortune 500 companies. He had retired and had plans to move to Singapore. Albert Lee was an avid patron of the arts, particularly music and literature.
He was funeralized in San Francisco and eulogized by his brother, the Reverend Donald Jones. Survivors are Francine Baldwin-Jones; sons, Albert III and Haki Jones; daughters, Treva Ball and Laurie Adams; grandchildren Jazmine, Elijah, Derek, and Taylor Diane; brothers, Donald and Lorenzo Jones; sisters, Versie Jones, Shirley Miller, Dorothy Griffin, Sheba Cunningham, Alma Dennis, Joyce Petty, and Wilma Albright; a very special friend, Vivian Linn of Singapore; and a treasure-trove of nephews, nieces, and other extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher; his parents; and sisters, Frances Duke and Erma Hayes.
