Herschel "Beth" Friday

Little Rock, AR, 1921 - 2010

Mrs. HERSCHEL "BETH" FRIDAY, age 88, loving wife, mother and grandmother died at her home in Little Rock Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. She was attended by her granddaughter, Alexis, long time assistant, Rudy Hughes and Bheti Freeman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel; her sons, Greg and Steven; her daughter, Pamela; her brothers, Jack and Bryan and her sister, Mary Nell Hammett. She is survived by her brother, Bill Hammett; granddaughter, Alexis Freeman Fowler and grandsons, Griff and Drew Friday, and four great-grandchildren. Born in Little Rock Dec. 18, 1921, she graduated from Little Rock High School, attended Little Rock Junior College, married and moved to Fayetteville with Herschel where he attended Law School. After law school, Herschel and Beth moved to Fort Smith, Ark. where her children were born and later they moved to Little Rock. Beth was active in many civic organizations; she loved to go dancing with her husband and friends; a true lady, Beth always had a smile and kind word for everyone. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th. St. Little Rock with Rev. Phil Spigner of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital "South Wing Construction", UALR Friday Fellows, or your favorite charity.
