Imogene "Jean" Thomason

Imogene "Jean" Thomason, age 82, of Amity, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010. She was born on August 26, 1928, in Alpine, the daughter of John Turner and Mattie Runyan Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Curtis Thomason; her grandson, Chris Thomason; her parents; and 13 brothers and sisters. She was a member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church of Donaldson. She was a retired bank employee and spent the last fifteen years as a foster grandparent for Centerpoint School District. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry "Tink" and Pam Thomason of Amity and Jerry and Rhonda Thomason of Lowell; five grandchildren, Scott Thomason, Brittney Thomason, Micah Thomason, Mark Thomason and Megan Bruner; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ida Faye Robertson of Arkadelphia. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Pastor Neal Theyland, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Arkadelphia under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Donnie Golden, Jimmy Angel, Johnny Francis, Keith Robertson, Jackie Clayton and Vester Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice Hancock, Crawford Wilson, Verlin Tarpley and Bro. Charles Sandage. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
