On April 12, 2011, God called home one of His Better Angels, Nina Whitmore Tullis, 84, of Mineral Springs. Nina has joined her beloved husband, Denzil, her first son, Larry, and other special friends and family members. Nina was well-known in Mineral Springs and neighboring towns for her 50-plus years as The Avon Lady and for her 30-plus years as owner of Nina's Thrift Shop. Nina is survived by two sons, Bobby Tullis of Mineral Springs and David Tullis of Little Rock; one grandson, Britton Tullis of Little Rock; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Tullis of Little Rock; one nephew, Randy Whitmore of Texarkana; and the other two Musketeers, cousins, JoJo Billings of Center Point and Perry Whitmore of North Little Rock. Two honorary granddaughters, Mandy McHan Yates and Jennifer McHan Tate, held a special place in Nina's heart. Nina loved Mineral Springs and all of her dear friends in southwest Arkansas. The family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful people of the Arkansas Department of Health-Hospice, Howard County Health Unit, for their care and support. A very special thank you goes to Fern Snowden for her daily care and friendship. The Tullis family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville. Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Mineral Springs Cemetery. Bro. Ben Jones will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Central Baptist Church, P.O0. Box 69, Mineral Springs, Ark. 71851.
