Tressie Ruth Davis

Tressie Ruth Davis, age 86 of Jacksonville, went to her heavenly home Monday, August 01, 2011. She was born November 6, 1924 in Hazen, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Wincy Dollar Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Davis, three sisters, four brothers, and one great-grandchild. She retired from Franklin Electric. Mrs. Davis had been a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church since the 1950's. Survivors include four sons, Thomas Davis, Jr. and his wife, Coy, Gary Lynn Davis and his wife, Norma, Charles Rick Davis, and his wife, Wanda, and Edward Leslie Davis, and his wife, Kelly, a brother, Elmer Jones and his wife¸ Fronia, a sister, Bessie Swaim, sister-in-law, Versa Jones, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Hazen Cemetery in Hazen. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Building Fund.
