Hanford Michael Farrell

Hanford Michael Farrell, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, after a lengthy illness in St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born in Brinkley, Arkansas, on September 7, 1951. He attended St. John's Catholic School along with many of his cousins and friends. He graduated from Brinkley High School in 1969. He attended the University of Arkansas and graduated in 1973 where he was a member Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He worked in the Farrell Construction business all over the southern United States and continued the business in Houston and San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Buster and Helen Farrell. He is survived by his son, Sean Michael Farrell, and grandson, Tristan Michael Farrell; his brother, Joe Farrell and wife Mynette Dee and their children, Jess Brandon Farrell, Adam Walker Farrell, Erica Mynette Lewis and Margaret Ruth Weidner; his sister, Sara Helen and her husband Jerry Michael France and their children Michael Carter France, Helen Clare France, and Erin Elizabeth France, and his brother Charles Coke Farrell and wife Susan Hill and their children Lynsey Farrell Hernandez, Charles Curtis Farrell, and Matthew James Farrell; and many cherished cousins. Mike had an adventurous spirit. He liked flying planes, hunting, scuba diving, and karate. He was blessed with a mechanical mind and could build or repair anything. He was a generous man who loved his family and saw the good in everyone. He enjoyed good conversations and had a great sense of humor. He was the epitome of an Irish gentleman, a truly compassionate soul. Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation and rosary on Sunday, August 7th at 7 p.m. at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home.
