Joda Ella Steakley Strickland

Joda Ella Steakley Strickland, 90, daughter of the late B.F. and Mamie Steakley, died Thursday, August 4, 2011. Mrs. Strickland, the widow of Adren (Doe) Strickland, leaves two daughters, Sandra and Charlotte Strickland of Lepanto; son, Dr. Gary Strickland (Lisa) of Jonesboro; sisters, Junette Gist of St. Louis, Mo., Jerealdean Bragg of Nesbitt, Miss., Geneva McDaniel of Little Rock and one granddaughter, Savannah Strickland of Jonesboro. Mrs. Strickland was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church of Lepanto. She retired from the Lepanto Public Schools after 27 years as a cafeteria employee and supervisor. She is preceded in death by sisters, Jewell and Jessie Steakley and brother, Ralph Steakley. Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. in Murphy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Brother Gary Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery.
