Houston Brazil, 78, of Hot Springs, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011. Oldest of eight children, he was born Jan. 21, 1933 in Saline County, Ark. Mr. Brazil was an entrepreneur; having owned Brazil Auto Repair on Hwy 5 in Benton and multiple other businesses in Saline County. He was also a Lieutenant for the Benton Police Department. Mr. Brazil was a Christian, a Mason and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilburn and Recie Cochran Brazil; four siblings, Carolyn Bailey, Floyd Brazil, Beverly Coker and Jean Dumond; and a grandson, David McGee. He is survived by his three daughters, Amy Mathys and husband Larry, Karen Stanton and husband, Roger and Michelle Johnson and husband Jeff all of Benton; his special friend of 23 years, Mary Sue Gipson of Benton; two brothers, Jerry Brazil and wife Carlene of Benton, and Anthony Brazil and wife Jeanne of Hot Springs; sister, Connie Ward and husband Joe of Benton; five grandchildren, Larry Mathys (Monica), Billy Mathys (Beth), Shane McGee (Brittney), Hunter Johnson and Cruz Johnson; David's surviving wife, Greta McGee and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at Ashby Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8 at First Baptist Church in Benton with burial at Kentucky Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Saline Memorial Hospice House at 23157 I-30 in Bryant, Ark. 72022. The family will be at 2810 Silverton in Cold Water Creek off Hwy. 5 in Benton.
