MATTHEW DANIEL DUKE, 32, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011. Matt loved God, his family, and his many friends – he was a very loving person. He attended high school in Monticello and was an outstanding football player for the Billies. He never lost his love of the sport and was an avid Razorback fan. At the time of his death, he was pursuing his education to realize his dream of becoming a coach. His grandparents, Paul and Olavene Duke and Boyd and Faye McDaniel, preceded Matt in death. He is survived by a loving family who miss him very much: his mother, Mary Jane Shue (Mike) and father, Danny Duke (Mava), brothers John David Maynard (Nikki) and Phillip Maynard, and sister, Lindsay McGough (David), stepsisters Michelle Love and Melissa Newman, nephews Dawson, Colby, Jacob, and nieces Makenzie, Addison, and Lilly. He held a special place in the hearts of his many friends, his cousins, and extended family, especially Larry and Dianne Hogue and John and Gay McDaniel. The family will receive visitors at Griffin Leggett Rest-Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will also be held in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service. Reverend Gary "Doc" Blevins of Tulsa, Okla., will conduct both services. Pallbearers will be John David Maynard, Phillip Maynard, Jacob Maynard, Jeff Hogue, Michael Hogue, Chris Hogue, Jud McDaniel and Jay McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper McDaniel, Turner McDaniel, Peyton McDaniel, Kendall Hogue, Casey Bone, Justin Keener, Jon Stringer, Matt Harmon, Wayne Sullivan, Matt Fagan, Mike Stiles, Clayton Shaver, Andy Rose, Colin Wall, Todd Mullens, Vernon Scott, and Jim Morgan. In honor of Matt's great love for the Razorbacks and the Chicago Cubs, those attending the funeral and/or the visitation are encouraged to wear shirts with either of the team logos.
