Max Theodore Linz
Max Theodore Linz, resident of Bryant, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at Saline Memorial Emergency Room at the age of 81. Max was born May 8, 1930 in North Little Rock, parents Clarence Linz and Bessie Griebel. Dec. 24, 1949 he was married to Flora Patrick of Bauxite. He served 48 years with the Union Pacific Railway. He enjoyed tending the yard, flowers and pool and always put the needs of his children and grandchildren first. Private devoted taxi driver, he would always chauffeur grandchildren to school, dance, gymnastics or band. Max is survived by his wife of 62 years, Flora Linz, along with his children, Deborah Hutchings of Alexander (Larry), Michael of Conway (Hermine), Corky of Bryant and Stewart Linz of Benton (Rhonda), sisters Virginia Rangel, Evelyn Flanakin and Hilda Richey, 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Those preceded him in death include siblings Clarence "Bud", Martha Marie and Albert "Archie" Linz. The service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Roller-Drummond on I-30 at 10 a.m. with graveside memorial to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Harrison Walls will be conducting the service with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Aug. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. American Journalist Ann Landers stated that "People who care about each other enjoy doing things for one another. They don't consider it servitude."
