Monta Sue (Finch) DeVazier

Monta Sue (Finch) DeVazier of Jacksonville was born February 26, 1937 in Fresno, California. She married James Howard DeVazier in April 1957. He served in the United States Air Force, and preceded her in death in 2004. They retired in Jacksonville, Arkansas in 1973. She spent the last 38 years there dedicating her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aside from her family her interests included sewing, gardening, ceramics and other crafts projects. Her joy in life was really the children that surrounded her. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Wilkins and partner Robin Vives both of Colorado, her granddaughter, Randi Brown and fiance'e Jason Seritt, her great-granddaughters, Shelby and Cassidy Brown, her sister, Marilyn Carmikle, her niece Lulynne, her brother, Jimmy Finch, sister-in-law, Kathy Finch and their daughters Hallie Wilson, Jimmie Kay Finch, Monte Clair Greer, and Jamie Freyaldenhoven. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Dendy, her nephew, Monty Carmikle and brother-in law, James Carmikle. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be sent to The Alzheimers Association (www.alz.org) in memory of Monta. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10th, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock with visitation one hour prior to the service. www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
